Event Description:
In collaboration with the National Park’s Community In Bloom (CIB) programme, the YMCA embarked on its first community gardening project at APSN in August 2006. This week day volunteering programme allows our volunteers and beneficiaries to learn the values of Care, Compassion, Respect and Responsibility as they jointly tend to the development of the plants and garden, while adding to their own personal growth. This programme will include ornamental, herbs and spices and organic vegetable gardens at various VWOs. Students from APSN Delta Senior School are assisting to maintain this garden and this event provides a platform for the students to adjust to different environment as well as building social skill with fellow volunteers.
